New (School) Year's Resolutions

I don't write New Year's Resolutions. It feels so contrived, so forced. Yet, the beginning of a school year feels like such a great time to make resolutions. It's a time to change routines, why not start a good one?

So on this, the first day of school, I resolve:
  • To exercise more
  • To drink caffeine less
That shouldn't be hard. After all, what's more than none and less than a lot?

And here, at the end of the first day, is my report:
  • I actually exercised today! I went to the club and ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I tried a different machine and a different program, so I don't really know how to compare with what I've done before, other than I actually went!
  • I had one can of Pepsi today and a couple liters of water. The way I figure it, that water could have been caffeinated drinks, so success! Woo hoo!
How about you? Do you make resolutions at the start of the school year? (Do you keep them?)

Well, since you asked...I usually write a letter to myself at the beginning of each year,to be opened at the end of each year. I write who I would like to be at the end of the year, etc. Of course, this year I didn't do it. I blame Paris. I can always blame Paris.

That's a neat idea. I haven't heard it before. This year, you could write an open letter to yourself on your blog. Could be interesting, no?

And yes, milk that Paris excuse all you can. Anyone who tries to run a marathon gets a pass whenever they want in my book.
